The motor is very very noisy. I called the customer service, and they nicely sent my a new motor unit without asking any question. I guess they receive a lot of complaints on the motor noise. The shipping took them more than 1 month. Today I receive the new motor, but the new one is as noisy as the old one. So I think that is how the motor unit is supposed to be. I don't plan to call them again, and get a new unit making the same noise.

The reason for the noise seems to be obvious: the motor is too weak. I tried to mod the unit by myself (like changing a new motor), but had no luck. I can't open the plastic cover on the motor. Graco glues it tightly, which I can understand.

We've totally enjoyed this swing except for one minor design problem. The first one we ordered did not work so I ordered a replacement. When that one came it did not work either. So I troubleshot it with a voltage tester and found the the positive side of the middle 2 batteries (it uses 4) was not making any contact. I used a screwdriver to bend the contact pins out a little and it then worked fine. I'm certain this is what was wrong with the first one so if you have a problem getting it to work I would bend these 2 wires out a little and try it then. I love this swing. It totally blends with my house deco. I like the earth tones my baby enjoys the two way swing, the music and she loves the mobile animals. sometimes she gets frustrated that she cannot reach the animals in the mobile which I think it's cute. The assemble was easy at least for my husband. A major plus is that it has a plug so you don't spend more money in batteries. We bought this swing after returning a Carters swing and I'm so happy that we did it.
The only con for me is that the seat in the swing is kind of narrow, I know it doesn't look like that in the picture but for my growing baby she is 3 moths old 3 weeks she is starting to look kind of uncomfortable so I think that, one more month and she will be done with the swing, although I'll try to put her in the swing until she can't fit anymore. That is the reason why I wish I've gotten this swing since my baby was a new born so she would've enjoyed the swing a little bit longer.

I was so excited to get my one year old a swing, and this was just such a disappointment. It's meant to hang from a tree branch or pre-existing swing set, which isn't mentioned anywhere in the description. We were going to put eye-hooks in our porch roof, but it actually recommends against using the hooks (or even really the swing set for that matter), due to the potential for creating metal shavings. Considering how many swing sets are metal on metal, it makes me think it must be some awfully cheap not very sturdy metal that they use. Second, we tried roping it around a sturdy part of the trellis since we don't have any trees in the desert, and it hung about 5 feet off the ground. Much too high for comfort. Then, to make matters MORE annoying, it didn't matter what we did, it would not level out. We tried adjusting the ropes behind the seat like the directions said, and they never budged. Great I supposed for peace of mind once it's installed properly, but no amount of pushing, pulling, or maneuvering was going to get those things to move. So, it's since been pulled back down, and will be returned as soon as the holidays are done. What a horrible disappointment.
